Are Tubtrugs really the best quality tubs in Australia?

The reason Tubtrugs are an established household brand today has much to do with the quality and features a Tubtrug provides and has always provided. Not discounting the wide range of colours and sizes available, but all Tubtrugs are premium quality products.
Tubtrugs are made from virgin low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and that makes them virtually indestructible. A lot of imitations Tubs are low quality and that’s sometimes reflected in the price, they are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). HDPE is a much harder plastic and mainly used in plastic bins and other more rigid type plastic products and this is what causes the product to crack a lot easier with general use. But that’s not all cheaper tubs are also often made from various untreated recycled plastics that have been used to store chemicals, detergents and many other unsavory things that you don’t want to mix with kid’s toys, food storage or washing pets for instance.
Unlike other cheaper imitation brand Tubs, Tubtrugs are made with a Cadmium-Free content which means they are safe and non toxic in fact they are afe enough to store food as they meet food grade standard.
Tubtrugs are also BPA and DEHP Free – DEHP is a commonly used plasticizer that is used to make plastics such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) soft and flexible. Any plastic products containing more than 1% by weight of DEHP were banned in Australia as of 1st February 2011. Do you know if the tub you are buying complies?
Different plastics also react differently to hot and cold temperatures or UV exposure and frost. Tubtrugs are UV proof, frost proof and fade resistant. HDPE has no resistance to these things. Tubtrugs also have excellent resistance to water, moisture and most organic solvents and chemicals. That is why you get the broken handles and splits in the body on other tubs so easily.
All Tubtrugs are produced by the same manufacturer and under the same standard ISO9002 Quality Assurance Program ensuring product consistency.
So if you are not buying a Tubtrug then know what you are buying.
